USS Hornet
We went on an overnight "ghost hunting" trip to the USS Hornet on April 26th in 2013. I don't believe in ghosts and "ghost hunting" is not something I would normally be doing but this trip was something Sandy really wanted to do. Considering how many places we've been where she wasn't really interested but came along anyway, it was the least I could do. And we had our two best friends along with us as well. I brought my camera thinking, even if I'm not into the ghost hunting I should be able to get some interesting photographs on such a large ship. It didn't really turn out that way. Ghost hunting is done in the dark, of course, and taking pictures didn't really "mesh" with what the group was interested in. And wandering off was not allowed except to the "infirmary" area - which was open all night. So, I managed to capture a few images but it wasn't a really productive photography trip. My favorite, however, is from the infirmary area where - since it was open all night - I went early in the morning and got to spend some time by myself. I am particularly fond of the surgical tools I photographed inside a glass case.
