Patagonia
In 2018 my wife and I travelled to Argentina and Chile, visiting two regions in Patagonia. It was a trip I had planned for over a year and a half. And it was a place I had longed to visit for well over five years. While it was expensive, particularly the choices we made, it was worth every penny.

Sunrise - Torres del Paine
A hike started in the dark. I did something similar at Fitz Roy and it was a disappointment. The morning at Fitz Roy started out clear but quickly changed to overcast, then rainy and finally it snowed near the top.
Fortunately, this wasn't as far and it seemed like the weather would be fine. But, an hour into it, it started to rain and I thought it would be like Fitz Roy again. Still, I kept going and it turned out quite well. Going back down though was difficult. The Patagonian winds nearly did me in. The wind was so strong it quite literally blew me over twice - and I'm neither small nor lightweight.
