My wife and I first visited Costa Rica in 2006. We spent the first week at Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge near Corcovado National Park. The second week we traveled around without any plans or reservations, except for the last two nights. We read that driving in Costa Rica is risky - but we had fun. Of course, we got lost once too and ended up spending the night someplace we hadn't intended. We returned in 2011 and went to the Caribbean side and stayed in Cahuita for almost the entire trip. It was quite different from our first visit.
