Casa de Fruita
Casa de Fruta is located on Pacheco Pass Highway (highway 152) in California near the town of Hollister. As we drive out to places like Yosemite, it's often a stop along the way (okay - I admit it - we usually stop because we need a restroom more than anything else). The actual store is really a collection of stores which started as a fruit stand back in the '40s. It's now a pretty expansive place with a gas station, motel, restaurants and a huge selection of all sorts of food such as nuts, fruits, etc.
My reason for returning is the collection of old farm equipment that is lined up on an old dirt road along the back of the property. You're free to walk around all you like. I find it a great place to go in the morning and can spend hours photographing the collections of old cars and farm machinery - with every piece covered in rust and peeling paint.

Casa de Fruta - Pink Hose
I'm drawn to simple compositions such as this; a hose captured hanging like a sine wave and the tops of two old tires. A few lines from supports on the truck caught in the light while the rest is in shadow. For me, this is a nice combination of the abstract and the real.
